Cameron Mitchell Restaurants will take over the former home of G. Michael’s for an unnamed Italian fine dining concept expected to open this fall.
The German Village space on Third Street is currently under development. It’s a prime location for the company, which has been seeking a German Village space for the past 15 years.
Previous occupants G. Michael’s Bistro & Bar closed in 2021 after 23 years in business, a blow to fans of the independent upscale-casual restaurant.
Now, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants looks to add the space to its 23 Columbus-area locations and 19 concepts nationwide.
“(The location) provides excellent visibility and a great opportunity to expand the culinary scene of the community,” reads a statement from Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. “German Village features some of the best restaurants in the city, and this fact, as well as the location of the building in the heart of the village, are why we are excited to build our newest concept here.”
More details are expected as the project progresses.
This is the second Italian fare concept announced by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants in the last year following Valentina’s, expected to debut in Dublin’s Bridge Park later this year.
